Watersnood Academy

The Knowledge Centre offers a variety of programmes aimed at spreading and expanding water knowledge. One such example is the Watersnood Academy.

In the Watersnood Academy, individuals from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds come together for presentations and working sessions. During these gatherings, participants discuss living with water and share their personal experiences. This collaborative approach fosters mutual learning and knowledge exchange.

Flood Academy

In the Flood Academy, we develop international activities for and by young people. These activities focus on water challenges such as flooding and sea level rise. Participants explore their own experiences with these issues and consider what messages they want to share with others.

In our WaterLab, participants come together for creative workshops as well as discussions. They are given a platform both domestically and abroad to showcase their work and ideas.

Research and Education

The Knowledge Centre is not only a resource for those eager to learn about water knowledge but also serves as a hub for water experts.

Through the Youth Watersnood Museum and our special educational packages, younger generations are introduced to water safety and water awareness.

Water experts use this space to stay updated on the latest research in the field. What is required for a sustainable and thriving Delta? And are floating cities the future?

Water Awareness

Scientific knowledge alone does not necessarily lead to awareness. Understanding the multifaceted nature of water—both its benefits and its risks—requires more than just facts. The emotional impacts can sometimes feel distant or abstract.

Culture plays a crucial role in bringing these important stories to light, making them more tangible. That’s why we also provide a platform for artists, who can reveal aspects of water that might otherwise remain hidden.
