Reddingsbrigade vaart door de straten van Valkenburg tijdens de overstroming van 2021

What would happen if a storm like the one in 1953 were to occur today? Are we prepared for it?

After the Flood Disaster of 1953, the government took measures to better protect the population from water. With the current climate and rising sea levels, it appears that severe weather increasingly poses risks.

In the exhibition 53NU, we explore how our safety looks 70 years after the disaster. If the Flood Disaster were to occur today, are we better prepared? What plans are in place? Together with experts, we compare the situation then with the situation now. The exhibition 53NU can be visited in the third caisson of the Watersnoodmuseum.
