We want everyone to have an enjoyable visit to the Watersnoodmuseum. Therefore, we kindly ask you to follow our house rules.
Getting here
The museum is easily reachable by car, with a spacious car park directly in front of the entrance.
If you are using public transport, the closest bus stop is Zierikzee, Sas. From there, it is a 6-kilometre journey to the museum. You can hire a shuttle taxi for this final stretch.
Food and Drink
You can also enjoy food and drink with us. Choose a delicious meal at Het Vijfde Caisson, our museum café. Alternatively, take a break during your museum visit at the coffee corner.
Accessibility
Our museum is for everyone, and we have taken various measures to ensure this. Please see below which situation applies to you.
I use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking.
All areas of the museum are accessible for wheelchairs. There is a short paved path from the parking lot leading to the entrance. From the museum's exit, a paved path leads back to the parking lot and the museum café. Additionally, we provide:
- 2 accessible parking spaces
- 2 accessible toilets
- Independent wheelchair lifts in the museum
- 3 wheelchairs available for loan
- 1 walker available for loan
- Volunteers and staff who are happy to assist

I have a hearing impairment.
The museum is equipped with hearing induction loops. All videos are subtitled in Dutch and English.

I have a guide dog or service dog.
Guide dogs have free access to the museum.
If you have a pet dog, they may only enter in a dog stroller. If you do not have a dog stroller, you can rent one from us:
- € 2.50 per stroller
- For dogs weighing up to 20 to 25 kilograms

Some areas of our museum are dimly lit. There are also sections with sounds and videos. The staff member at the museum entrance can provide more information about this.
