Support Us
At the Watersnoodmuseum, we work diligently to educate people about the 1953 Flood and promote sustainable living with water. Would you like to help us in this mission? Find out how you can get involved here.
Donations
Many of the items in our museum have been generously donated by individuals. These include not only photographs, newspaper articles, and other visual materials but also personal belongings or artworks that tell the story of the 1953 Flood and other global floods.
These donations allow us to create meaningful exhibitions and keep important memories safe and accessible to everyone. Together, we preserve the story of the flood and the power of water.
Do you have an item you might like to share with us? Please read our donation policy to learn how the donation process works.
Sharing Your Story
Memories aren't always captured through photos, diaries, or personal items. Years ago, Jaap Schoof, former director of the Watersnoodmuseum, set out to interview survivors and rescuers about their experiences. These stories were either written down or recorded.
Today, we have a collection of over 300 interviews and 750 written memories. People continue to come to us to share their personal stories. If you have a story about the disaster, we would love to hear it.
One-Time Donation
You can also support the Watersnoodmuseum by making a one-time donation. This contribution helps us in sharing both historical and new stories about the disaster and water. You can choose the amount you wish to donate.
Support the Watersnoodmuseum with a one-time donation.
Become a Friend
From just €25 per year, you can support the Watersnoodmuseum. Your contribution, along with that of other Friends, enables us to carry out various projects and activities at the museum.
