Introductions

Visiting with a group larger than 15 people? You can enhance your museum experience with an introductory session.

Before exploring the museum, your group will gather in one of our rooms. While enjoying a traditional Zeeuwse bolus and a drink, you'll listen to an introduction about the museum and the Watersnood disaster. This introduction lasts about 20 minutes.

We can tailor the content of the session to suit your group's background and interests.

Entrance fees for groups

Guided Tours

Visiting with a group larger than 15 people? You can enhance your museum visit with a guided tour.

One of our volunteers will lead your group through the museum, exploring each caisson in detail. You’ll learn about the key themes of the disaster: How did it happen? What emotions did it evoke? How did people rebuild the country? And what role does climate change play in sea levels and our safety today?

Arrangementen - Dreischor Wijnhoeve De kleine Schorre

Culinary Arrangement: The Wine of Dreischor (from €45 per person)

After the disaster, much land was rendered unusable for agriculture due to saltwater. It took months for the effects of this salinization to lessen. Would you like to know how we can now grow grapes in Zeeland? Combine a visit to Wijnhoeve De Kleine Schorre with a visit to the Watersnoodmuseum.

Culinary Arrangement: Oysters Tasting in Yerseke (from €32 per person)

Oyster farming is a long-standing Zeeland tradition. But did you know that oyster cultivation is important for more sustainable meals on your plate? Discover how the disaster has influenced food development! Combine a visit to the oyster beds in Yerseke with a visit to the museum.

Culinary Arrangement: Salt from the Eastern Scheldt (from €37,50 per person)

In saltworks, natural salt is purified so we can safely eat or use it. This craft has existed since Roman times. The only saltworks in the Netherlands is located near the Watersnoodmuseum. Combine a visit to Zeeuwsche Zoute saltworks with a trip to the museum and discover how we harvest salt directly from the Eastern Scheldt!

Guided Tour Arrangement: Tour and Drinks (from €40 per group)

Are you visiting with more than 15 people and want to learn more about the Watersnoodramp? Or about the unique location of the museum and how water builders have dealt with water for centuries? With this arrangement, you combine a visit to the museum with an introduction or guided tour followed by drinks.

Business Arrangement: Meeting and Lunch Drinks (from €200 per group)

Are you looking for a quiet, historically rich venue to hold a meeting for up to 50 people? And do you want to avoid worrying about food? This arrangement might be the perfect solution for you!

Looking for a venue for a presentation, business meeting, or conference? The Watersnoodmuseum and Het Vijfde Caisson offer several rooms for such occasions. All rooms can be paired with lunch or dinner.
