2023 - National Commemoration of the 1953 Flood Disaster
Every year on February 1st, we gather at the Flood Museum to remember the victims of the Flood of 1953. At the Gust Romijn monument, we reflect on those fearful and sorrowful times and the people who did not survive.
The National Commemoration in 2023, 70 years after the flood disaster, focused on remembering and looking ahead. It was a moment to honor the victims from the past and to reflect on how we can prevent such a disaster from happening again in the future.
