The Netherlands has centuries of experience with water management. Many organizations are dedicated to sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm.

How can we live safely alongside water? This question drives ongoing research and collaboration.

Delft University of Technology, the oldest and largest technical university in the Netherlands, is committed to creating impact for a better society.

In the academic year 2023-2024, the Watersnoodmuseum, TU Delft, and Dorp Stad en Land collaborated on the Re-start House 2.0 project. Students were given 10 weeks to design a modern version of a gift house.

The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) is a knowledge institution that provides a wide range of professional education programs, nurturing a diverse student body to fully develop their talents and practice their professions independently and at a high level. By integrating education with practical research, the HvA contributes to the innovation of professional practices and society within and around an internationally oriented Amsterdam.

The South-West Delta Area Consultation (Gebiedsoverleg Zuid-Westelijke Delta) promotes cohesion in addressing challenges related to water and climate adaptation, as well as the added value of programs in the fields of safety, economy, and ecology.

The Geopark Schelde Delta narrates a 50-million-year story of subsidence and uplift, sea level rise and fall, tidal waters, rivers, and climate change. It also highlights the alternating roles of natural processes and human influences.

(Be)Leefbare Schelde aims to achieve UNESCO Geopark status for the Scheldt Estuary, a natural area connecting Flanders and the Netherlands.

On March 27, 2024, UNESCO awarded the Scheldt Delta area, located in the Netherlands and Belgium, the UNESCO Global Geopark designation.

Stichting Blauwe Lijn works on projects and practical products to leverage the knowledge of historical water masters, aiming to support current and future water engineers in the Netherlands in addressing water safety and contemporary water issues.

Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen is a collaboration between the Zeeland province, Zeeland municipalities, and network company Stedin Groep. The foundation was established to ensure the agreements made during the sale of DNWG/Enduris to Stedin Groep are upheld, particularly in the areas of energy supply and energy transition.

Thanks to a contribution from Stichting Zeeuwse Publieke Belangen, the serious games Oosterschelde in Onderhandeling and InVloed have been developed.

The Mondriaan Fund is a financier and promoter of the visual arts and heritage sectors in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

The Artist-in-Residence programme at the Watersnoodmuseum and the Youth Watersnoodmuseum are made possible by a contribution from the Mondriaan Fund.

The Cultural Fund invests over 40 million euros annually in culture and nature. This funding supports approximately 3,500 projects across the Netherlands, the Caribbean part of our Kingdom, and Suriname.

The VSBfonds supports arts and culture across a broad spectrum, with a focus on public engagement and participation.

Thanks to a contribution from the VSBfonds, Caisson 4 has been redesigned to be both renewed and inclusive.

International Water Partners

Countries around the world must seek new ways to coexist with water. Due to climate change and rising sea levels, waiting for solutions is often not an option.

From expanding deserts to sinking islands, there is much to learn from each other.

After Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration was signed with the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans.

We collaborate with the Tsunami Photo Museum in Telwatta to exchange knowledge and visual materials.

The Canal Zone Committee on the North Sea is a multilateral dialogue forum that provides a flexible framework for its members to collaborate and extend this cooperation to local stakeholders such as associations, higher education institutions, and the business sector. The members meet quarterly in the Executive Committee, where each authority is politically represented.

The Red Cross has a clear mission: to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may occur, to protect lives and health, and to ensure respect for humanity. Their particular focus is on those who are most vulnerable during armed conflicts, disasters, and other emergencies.

The mission of the Terramar Museum is:

To showcase the history and archaeology of Bonaire and the Caribbean to a broad audience.
To facilitate research into the history and archaeology of Bonaire and the Caribbean.
To provide a platform for both professionals and amateurs to discuss topics related to the history and archaeology of Bonaire and the Caribbean.
