Book presentation by Christian Clauwers
On Sunday, December 29, Belgian photographer Christian Clauwers will present his latest book, "FROZEN HERITAGE — Arctic Vaults & the Future of our History," in Caisson 1 of the Watersnoodmuseum. Get inspired and ask for an autograph after the presentation!
In FROZEN HERITAGE — Arctic Vaults & the Future of our History, Clauwers documents the loss of heritage and the impact of climate change on biodiversity. He takes us on a journey to three frozen archives that preserve food biodiversity and human heritage for future generations:
- The Global Seed Vault
- The Arctic World Archive
- Frøyhall
These archives are all hidden in the icy cold of Svalbard, where they can remain intact for centuries.
Christian Clauwers is globally active and has documented unique locations such as Tuvalu. Through his work, he gives a voice to vulnerable ecosystems and communities, contributing to awareness and education for the future.
