Opening of the Mural 'Drijfkracht' in Goes

As part of the national Museum Murals project, the Watersnoodmuseum collaborated with Stefan Thelen, who is recognized globally for his artwork.
Stefan Thelen will begin work on his mural starting August 19th. His canvas will be the side of a 32-meter-high building managed by Beveland Wonen in Goes. The mural will serve as a reminder of the stories from the Watersnoodramp and the importance of preventing future disasters.

Program
The schedule for the opening event is as follows:
- 14:30 – Arrival at the Poelhoek group space.
- 15:00 – Start of the program
- 15:00 – Opening speech by Siemco Louwerse, Director of the Watersnoodmuseum.
- 15:05 – Sjaak van Loo discusses the Watersnoodramp in Zuid-Beveland.
- 15:30 – Stefan Thelen talks about the background of the mural.
- 15:45 – 16:00 – Walk to the mural at Weidezicht apartment building.
- 16:00 – Official unveiling of the mural, with Stefan Thelen’s great-aunt and daughter, and Joost de Goffau, Alderman for Culture of Goes.
- 16:05 – Reception at the mural.
- 17:00 – End of the program.
